What happens to my retirement fund savings when I change jobs?

When you change jobs before retirement (whether you resign, are dismissed or get retrenched), you will have a number of options regarding your existing retirement savings (also called your member share).

Option 1: You can preserve it (leave it in the Fund)

Option 2: Re-invest your money in a preservation fund

Option 3: Re-invest your money in a retirement fund with your new employer

Option 4: Re-invest your money in a retirement annuity

Option 5: Take the cash payment
